The only time i’ve had to replace a PSU is when (during boot-up) one of the Al electrolic caps exploded, sending scraps of metal casing everyware. One of wich shorted a few components next to the high frequency switching transformer. It made a pop, then wall behind the computer light up with blue light, and then it stank like burning dust.
