Thanks, Phil! I used to show this series when teaching Computer Organization & Architecture – it is a wonderful history! It not only shows the brilliance of the pioneers, but the critical intersection with circumstance & timing that often plays a role in bringing products to market and later to ubiquity.
At 16 min 47 sec the narrator introduces Ada Countess of Lovelace and refers to her as the “first computer programer”. I wonder if this was Limor’s inspiration for Ladyada?
