It looks like the folks from MacBidouille/HardMac got an LCD panel working with a VGA connector, they say they’re going to publish how they did it soon. Thanks Dan! – Forum (in French) & link.

I did one too. It is easy. There is a kit can do this kind of project. The kit includes an A/D converter, VGA cable, inverter, power adapter.
Since I am new here, i don’t know how to attache pictures. I have a blog for you guys reference.

Hi,
the project has been sleeping for a while, since the 3 of us had much to do in the last months, but we’re planning to finish it in the summer.
The good point in our project versus other kits is that the max resolution is often much higher.
Thanks for your support…

I have a lot of old laptops. It would be a nice hack to get the lcd working on a desktop.I got my backlight working. I was looking for vga signals input to the lcd ,but it has 30 pins.I have several graphics cards that have a 20 pin connector.
I think this is it.

I think all theses signal are digital .It says these ports where built into a lot of cards. It might be a better starting point than the vga port . I can tell by looking at the pinout of the one these guys had that it would not be easy because the signals look completely different.
I meant to say 26 pins .also I found a BUNCH of pinouts here.
Happy hacking!
oops again.

hey guys, I have 7 LCD’s model M260J3-L01 (26″), Chi Mei Optoelectronics new, and want to make or purchase a device to connect to the telvision or computer, if someone has this information to change one of the screens.
Please send me how to design a contoller board for that purpose or, a pre designed board to buy cheaply. My LCD is a Packard Bell EasyNote L4014 laptops LCD monitor.
Either i have a DVI output from my Desktop VGA card. I can Connect to that digital out, If I have the correct pins matched to the 40 pin connector of laptop LCD. Even want to know how to supply for the Inverter….
