I remember seeing something sort of similar on a larger scale using some acrylic tubing for the “filament” and a ultra bright orange LED on the end of it, inside a blown glass lightbulb, severely oversized, it was meant to be an art project after all, so the bulb was about 3 feet wide…
but the concept would still work, and draw much MUCH less power than the incandecent’s will.
Could even make it powered off a couple of AA’s, to have a portable mad scientist lamp.
