Radar means “RAdio Detection And Ranging”. This is not a radar but a proximity detector using infrared.

IR detector RADAR? I don’t think so…cute idea but you could do better with a cheapo ultrasonic sensor anyway. Pity the editors never bother to review these things. Now a FLIR hack…that would be something.

I was hoping to see a true RADAR, too. But it looks like a Sharp IR ranging device on a scanner, which is a nice gadget all the same. Shame the video only shows the display in the car for a fraction of a second before moving on. I’d have liked to see more of that.
