If you were to replace the SPST switch with a correctly-oriented mercury switch salvaged from an old-style furnace thermostat, you wouldn’t have to put down all of your work to turn it on – just tip it up on edge as in the photo.
I’m sorry but $35.00 for this is quite steep. The excess product (4′ heat shrink) is nice and would help fill up part drawers but its cheaper elsewhere.
As for a fume extractor… Cool Tools had a USB one up yesterday for $19 on amazon….

It doesnt have the carbon filter but for another $9 you can order a 3 pack of replacement filters while you are at amazon.
Seriously, some MakerShed projects are WAY overpriced.
