Sylvain, AKA MicroSyl, wanted to build an audio spectrum display using old “magic eye” vacuum tubes:
After doing some project with vintage tube I got the idea of doing an audio spectrum display with “magic eyes tube” and driving those with an AVR MCU with Fast Fourier Transform.
The enclosure is sweet too! [via Embedded Projects]

After Googling Magic Eye tube, I can now say that I’ve learned something new today. I guess I can pack it in for the day! Nice project using a pretty cool item.
Did this three years ago. Fun times. http://luckyohm.com/lucky_ohm/stereolith.html
