Animated GIFs show how mechanisms work

What better way to explain the way complicated mechanical devices work than by using an animated GIF? [Via Core77]

If you like these animations, take a look at this web site:

All done with CAD, and all types of engines. This should clear up
the confusion over the “steam engine” in the page linked to above, which isn’t an engine at all.

Nice! Thanks. I have always wondered how a sewing maching did it…that is so easy when shown like that.

Have a search on YouTube for Tim Hunkin’s “Secret Life Of Machines The Sewing Machine”.

If you want to know all about sewing machines that will show you! Needless to say the rest of the videos in that series are excellent and all available free.

Any series of pictures can be turned into a flipbook using Flipbook Printer.

I’ve always felt that students who are presenting a poster can attach an inexpensive flipbook animation of key actions to enhance the experience.

I’ll have to experiment with these .gifs
