The great internet migratory box of electronic junk passed through the hands of our own Gareth Branwyn –
For The Great Internet Migratory Box of Electronic Junk (TGIMBOEJ). Here is some of what I added to the box (code-named: Yokohama).
This is fun! (And yes, I suck as a photographer. Taken with my phonecam.)
No worries Gareth, looks good from here! But what was taken from the great box? –
Wow, looks like a good haul – perfboards, toroids, and matrix – oh my!

This thing was totally fun to participate in. I used to do mail art in the 80s/early 90s and this reminded me of that. I was so thrilled when the TGIMBOEJ showed up on my doorstep. Keeping with the mail art theme, I’m going to *improve* the box before sending it on its way.
I enjoyed playing with the Quito box…

If anyone is interested in participating, you can add your name to the wiki at tgimboej.org.
We have been doing this for years in our hobby group. We call it a “passaround”.
You can do it for parts, projects, finished items, reviews, etc. You could even coordinate the purchase of an item jointly by the group which is then given away to someone in the group using a lottory method.
