Here’s one of my favorite notes ever. It’s from a Lucy Leith, about her experience at Maker Faire, which she attended last year with her dad, Andy.

My name is Lucy Leith, and I am a 13-year-old maker. I heard about Maker Faire through MAKE magazine, and thought that it would be a cool thing to attend, so that I could meet people like me, who like to make things.

I also thought that it would be neat to see all of the amazing inventions and creations that people come from all different places to display and see. One of my favorite things to see was the display from MIT about technology in clothing, because I am interested in clothing design, and in robotics. I thought it was a really cool idea to interlock the two ideas.

Some of my other favorite things that [i saw] were all of the steampunk creations, such as the Snail Car and other steampunk vehicles.

I definitely want to come back some day, because there were so many cool people and things to see, all who bring different ideas and creations with them that get people thinking about different inventions that could come from those ideas that will remake America.
