Geek Chic: DIY Abacus Bracelet

When it comes to impressive DIY wrist-wear, this abacus bracelet certainly brings together form and function beautifully. Plus, it looks really, really fantastic!

Want to go retro with your calculator watch? No, not the 1980s. How about two millennia before that? We’re going to make a bent wood bracelet with a miniature, working abacus built into it!

Want to give it a try? Check out the full abacus bracelet tutorial that HaHaBird shared on Instructables.

Note: As I’m sure you can tell from looking at the photos, this project isn’t an ideal starting place for a complete DIY novice. Before you begin, you’ll definitely want to be familiar with basic woodworking skills and tools, and you should be comfortable with using both craft knives and adhesives.

Happy calculating, crafty friends!
