Make It for Mom: Easy Wood Grain Silhouette Portrait

What else could be more thoughtful than a DIY gift for mom featuring her darling children in a silhouette portrait? This is a simple and effective project that even the least of the handy dads out there can make in time for Mother’s Day this weekend.

All you need is a camera (even your phone will do), a printer, pencil, scissors, some plywood with heavy wood grain, and some contrasting paint, and of course some children to photograph. If you don’t have a saw at home, get your wood cut to size at the hardware store. You will be sure to impress the Mrs., and the sentiment will last a lot longer than a bouquet of flowers!
