graduated from the University of Virginia with an engineering degree and an interest in film as a hobby. He ran the student film organization, taught classes in digital filmmaking, assisted in film festivals, and has won several regional awards for his own short films. He is now [in 2005] in graduate school at Carnegie Mellon University pursuing a doctoral degree in Human-Computer Interaction.
