Sculptor Dustin Wallace, whose intricately machined Transformers for grown-ups and sheet metal origami robots I have been raving about for some months, now, is at it again. These are a selection of choice work-in-progress shots from his latest build, called Sentry. Besides the arm blades, when finished, it will have hoses and canisters containing liquid on its back and a glowing LED in the eye.

We decided to stick to the theme of mixed reality projection games, developing a custom WaterFire version of the classic Frogger Game. Players were invited to wear a helmet rigged with infrared LED’s which let them control a virtual frog trying to cross the treacherous WaterFire-themed street.

In the spirit of this Make Magazine-affiliated event, we are sharing our software that ran the game, along with some instructions here. We will also be posting a video of the event soon.
