Neat project, uses a VCR as a computer case. I decided gut the VCR and use it as a computer case. This would replace the functionality of the DVD player and video recorder with one unit that looks more like a VCR than a computer (thus keeping the wife happy). Great project- Katie Williams, from Brunel University in London, has created a nifty prototype of swimming goggles . The total time spent swimming, the number of laps completed and the speed traveled are shown in a tiny heads-up display inside the goggle lens, using a system that reflects information off tiny mirrors. Ray sends us the scoop on the CVS disposable video camera- The king of the one-time digital camera hacks/analysis finally got his hands on a CVS Camcorder on Friday, the 24th via someone shipping him one FedEx. Within 18 hours, he had slurped the flash memory and has the unencrypted, XVID codec, 320×240, 30fps movies stored in the camera on his computer. Link.
