HOW TO make a bearing trampoline game
Rob writes “Years ago I really liked the game called Bing Bang Boing, I wanted to get one for my young son but since it’s no longer on the market I decided to make one for him. The game involves setting up small trampolines so that a ball bearing can successfully bounce along a number of them in succession.” Link.
Some Halloween projects…

A ton of Halloween DIY projects over on Derek Greenwood’s Halloween pages. There you’ll find how to make a “head in a jar“, perfect for any occasion really, along with many many more. And last up, here’s a Doctor Octopus costume from one of my fave Makers, Rob Cockerham – Link.
Papercraft cars…

Here’s a pretty good group of paper templates you can download, print and make your own papercraft car. The site is not in english, but it’s pretty easy to figure out and best of all – it has a lot of paper cars I haven’t seen on other sites, like 5 different types of Fiats. Link.
DIY Monitor riser
Homemade ergo-monitor riser made from a half-inch thick piece of 24″ x 48″ birch plywood, some ABS plastic drain pipe (1 1/2″ diameter), and some plastic spray paint. Very simple, under $20 and might save some neck pain. Link.
The $2.77 CVS camera helmet mount
Cory writes “I got a CVS disposable video camera a few weeks ago with the idea that I would use it to make some videos of local trails to put up on my site. I also saw a nice howto for mounting the camera to a helmet that inspired me. The howto I saw involved drilling the helmet, and I did not want to do that, so I came up with my own design. My mount design is simple, easy to mount and dismount, does not destroy the helmet or affect the balance of the helmet, and is very cheap.” Link.
Here’s a great site that shows you how to upgrade Apple’s eMac. Overclock to 1.3Ghz, add a new hard drive, run dual screens and cut down on fan noise. These eMacs are usually pretty cheap on eBay too, so it might be worth grabbing one and sup’ing it up. [
Here’s an incredible case mod made to look like the iconic droid, R2-D2 – the Maker used a white plastic barrel for R2’s body and a weber grill for R2’s head. It’s not Jawa junk though, the unit cools a 3.2Ghz P4 running at 3.7Ghz to -38 degrees celsius. [
