Pitches with Prototypes

At this year’s Hardware Innovation Workshop, a call was put out for interested makers to promote their prototype to us in a video. From these submissions five makers were selected to pitch at HIW. Attendees voted for the idea with the best prospects and the winner presented on stage at Maker Faire. The whirlwind of prototypes and pitches was a blast. Everyone had a chance to meet the makers and see their products at the HIW Prototype Pavilion. Now it’s your turn. Below are videos from the actual Pitches with Prototypes event. Watch the videos. Maker Faire Kansas City This Weekend

A big weekend of making is on tap for this weekend at Maker Faire Kansas City June 29-30. The fair will be held at Kansas City’s Union Station and is drawing makers from across the Midwest and beyond. Ink Magazine published a great preview of the fair along with some excellent portraits of makers who will be showing their stuff this weekend.

Handibots are Going Fast

ShopBot launched a Kickstarter campaign for its much anticipated Handibot and pre-orders for the mini CNC devices are moving fast. The company sold the 10, $1,995 early bird specials within the first hours of its campaign. As of this writing ShopBot had raised $25,000 of its $125,000 campaign.
