Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these people come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

Machinist Bob Schneeveis made the Solar Electric Robot Chariot. Powered by the sun, the chariot is pulled by an anatomic machine that walks on wheels to lengthen its stride. Vancouver-based makers eatART have been working away at their most recent creation, Titanoboa, a 50 ft mechanical snake. They displayed the work-in-progress at this year’s Vancouver Mini Maker Faire, and it’s come a long way.
