Knitted Chinook Pattern

According to Sarah at the Trying to Grok blog, a chinook helicopter is the “most stuffed-animalizable military vehicle that exists.” I would argue that a submarine might be slightly easier, but they’re definitely close. Sarah made one for a friend’s new baby, and typed up the pattern to share with all of you.

Automatic cat faucet

Spotted in the MAKE Flickr Pool, user tsruzik made this automatic cat faucet using an IR sensor and AVR. I know plenty of cats that like to drink from the faucet, and this apparatus really takes the annoyance factor out of the equation. Schematic and source code included.
