HOW TO SCUMM up your PSP!
Another nice PSP HOW TO from AOTS – It’s surprisingly simple to play your favorite classic LucasArts titles on your PSP. We snagged a couple steps from the great hardware hacking forums, DCEmu, and combined them with a little of our own knowledge to give you this little tutorial. How to Install ScummVM for the PSP… Link.
Recycled Denim Pencils
Hmm, I’d like to learn how to make these. These pencils don’t consist of any wood. Instead they are made out of 20-33% recycled blue denin jeans that have been ground up. The rest is the recycled post-consumer paper. To complete the blue theme, they have a blue eraser and a pewter blue ferrule. For something…greener, you can also get pencils made out of “old money” or recycled U.S. dollar bills. A pack of 12 costs $6. Link.
Name that Video Game!
PBS’s site has a neat game where you listen to retro game sounds and try to guess which game they’re from. I got 15 out of 18, a couple of the games I never played back then or ROM now. This would be a fun category for Jeopardy. The site also has some other retro game trivia too. Link.
Add A9 images on Googlemaps!
This is one of my new favorite google map hacks – Why not take A9 Local images and insert them into Google Maps search results? (A9 Local images are storefront snapshots – taken by Amazon’s A9.com – of 15 major US Cities) How does it work? Greasemonkey lets me inject script into any page (viewed in Firefox), and the script I injected is set up to fetch an Address Search from A9.com, looking for a corresponding image. If an image is found, it’s displayed in the “Info Balloon” on Google Maps Link.
Add a USB Port to your USB optical Mouse
This could be a handy hack if you want (or need) to add another USB port on your system- add a USB port to your mouse! I could see using this for a quick way to transfer stuff to a USB drive. I always wondered why the wireless mice don’t charge via USB, that way you can have them wireless, and then charge them when needed (and still use it). Maybe I’ll make one. Link.
Greasemonkey 0.5.1 Final is out!
Greasemonkey- my favorite way to make the web work (for me) again, is out. The update fixes some security things and other bugs. I have a few scripts that I use every day along with a lot of Firefox extensions. Here’s a post with my set up, extensions and more. Link. As Waxy said, you may now resume remixing the web.
