The Freesound Project
The Freesound Project – a collaborative database of Creative Commons licensed sounds. It is developed for the international computer music conference 2005 to be held in Barcalona Spain in September. The site has a very advanced search engine. The best was recently introduced: geotags were added for the field recordings in the database. This means that you can look at your google earth and see all these cool sounds from all across the globe. Thanks Anton! Link.

HOW TO track links In your Instant Messenger profile
Very cool google map hack using your AIM profile…You are able to view specific information such as …Screen Name, Date/Time they clicked on a link, IP Address, Browser, Operating System, Location. This information is then used to generate detailed graphs and Google Maps. Everything is also protected with a log in unlike similar services. Link.
One Bag (all about packing, luggage, and travelling light)
Handy tips. There’s no question: overpacking easily heads the list of biggest travel mistakes. Thus this Web site, offering exhaustive (some might say exhausting) detail on the art of travelling light, living for an indefinite period of time out of a single (carryon-sized) bag. Link.
Photos from the MAKE session at OSCON
Akenji took some photos at our packed MAKE session at OSCON (Open Source convention). The session had a bit of past DIY culture, crafting, Sony Librie e-ink hacking, PSP hacking, Linux on Ipods, high powered lasers and a lot of gadgetry. Link.
HOW to get Google Maps on a Sony PSP
Inspired by Ian Meyer’s Google Maps on iPod Photo, I decided to do the same on Sony PSP. Using the Sony PSP’s excellent 480 x 272 widescreen LCD and image pan and zoom function, I only need one high-resolution view from Google Maps. Link.
