We’re seeing some great projects in our UpCraft month, and this one from Leya of Curious Bird is a beautiful addition. She shows how to take a thrifted or damaged cashmere sweater and transform it in to a sweet and cozy cowl with just a few simple cuts and straight lines of stitching.
Ranjit Bhatnagar is getting some really neat watery sounds from this tiny kalimba made from a tube clamp and some guitar wire clippings. Great for audio FX, just stick a contact mic on things and check out the sounds you get!

Patrick Hughes is a British artist who coined the term ‘reverspective’ to describe his technique of painting a dimensional surface to create an exaggerated 3D effect in his work. The gimmick (which reminds me a lot of the “Hollow Face” optical illusion) combines foreshortening and the fact that his paintings really do extend into the third dimension–just not as much as it seems.
