SeeMeCNC’s Hacker H2 kit isn’t for the faint of heart, but it will satisfy users who like getting their hands dirty customizing their printer.
The kit ships with two different length sets of delta arms: Orion (178mm) and Rostock (290mm). By swapping the arms, you can get either taller or wider prints. A simple G-code macro will update the necessary EEPROM settings for the set of arms in use.
Print Your Way
The H2 knocked out our test probes with ease. However, too little cooling at the nozzle exit resulted in poor print performance on features like overhangs. Print quality was noticeably superior with Cura over MatterControl. Though novice users may want to look elsewhere, the H2 offers a 3D printer modder’s dream at a reasonable price.
