DIY Projects
How Products Are Made
This is my new favorite site! “How Products Are Made explains and details the manufacturing process of a wide variety of products, from daily household items to complicated electronic equipment and heavy machinery. The site provides step by step descriptions of the assembly and the manufacturing process (complemented with illustrations and diagrams) Each product also has related information such as the background, how the item works, who invented the product, raw materials that were used, product applications, by-products that are generated, possible future developments, quality control procedures, etc.” [via] Link.
Got them cigar-box blues…
Drew writes in with some great mp3s from the cigar box guitar in MAKE volume 04 – “Anchorbutt contributor and blues dilettante, Ryan Leaf, took a respite from his usual duties with the Andy Johnson Explosion to build a cigar box guitar and regale us with a couple of tracks.” Link.
HOW TO – Use an LCD with your electronic devices
Refik writes – “Here’s a DIY project that shows you how to connect a LCD display to your electronic device, in this case a microcontroller was used!” Link.
DIY Projection clock
Raph writes “Since the first time I saw a projection clock, I knew one day I would build my own by converting a watch with an LCD display. Last week, I bought a watch in a dollar store and managed to convert it to a projection clock. I can finally project the time on my bedroom ceiling.” Link.
Make a circle out of squares…
Fun art project from Brob on Instructables “Build a square wooden frame with nails all around. Tie string round the nails and repeat until all nails are used. You should be left with a cool circle shape and a nice piece of art for very little cost.” Link.
