In The Maker Shed: Povard Kit

The Povard is a large hand held POV device that is built onto a very cool laser cut and etched acrylic bezel. A POV “tricks” your eyes into seeing a full image when only part of the image is visible at one time. This effect is called the “Persistence Of Vision.” This is the way the Povard works.

Those of you who have been following the progress of Steve Lodefinkโ€™s World Control Panel in our last two Flickr pool roundups (1, 2) will enjoy these videos of the completed panel in action. So, too, will almost everyone else. The uppermost vid has a truly rockinโ€™ soundtrack (which I would be grateful to have someone identify), and the one immediately above features Steveโ€™s son, Harlan, explaining the operation of the panel with all the diabolical enthusiasm one would expect from a promising young superspy.
