A food cooperative in Germany, called The Deli Garage, has developed an edible spray finish, which is apparently harmless and tasteless. It currently comes in: chrome, gold, blue and blush. Unfortunately, it is not available in the United States yet, but I’ve been looking for an excuse to go to Germany anyways. [via Trendland]
I set out to write a generic “props” round-up, but quickly discovered that our props tag is pretty deep, and covers a wide range of subjects including haunt props and/or prop furniture, elaborate costumes, and display props. I narrowed my focus, then, to props a person might carry around as part of a costume, and found, even then, there was more cool stuff than I could fit into one roundup.

A chance meeting with the EastSide Riders Bike Club leads us to the Georgia Street Community Center. Both organizations are dedicated to improving their community, through education, gardening, and neighborhood involvement.
Somerset catering manager, Trevor Prideaux, found that he was having trouble texting ever since he upgraded his handset to a smartphone. Ultimately, this didn’t stop Trevor. The resourceful Mr. Prideaux enlisted help from device manufacturer Nokia and professionals from the Exeter Mobility Centre to help design and fabricate a prototype prosthetic arm that could hold his smartphone while he typed. The result, developed in just five weeks by prosthethist Steve Gallichan, technician Les Street, and undergrad Sara Bennett looks like a natural fit.
