The latest features include: Subscriptions support, syncing via remote OPMLs, auto cleanup, genre overriding in iTunes, new languages, visually impaired support, security fixes, one click options for feeds and more. There’s new diesel bike called the Thunder Star 1200 that gets 150 mpg, the folks over at Kneeslider points out it might make a good candidate for some biodiesel action. I’ve been on the look out for all things new and interesting with biodiesel, so I’m adding this to my list. In our 3rd issue we’re going to have a lot about biodiesel, modding your cars and some pretty amazing transportation “hacks”. Link.
If only you could replicate this. Farrell Eaves calls it his magic camera. It takes the darnedest pictures. Sometimes it creates pastel auras or adds symmetrical streaks the color of rainbows. Sometimes drips or blobs of color will magically appear that change a well-composed snapshot into art. It’s like a digital kaleidoscope. Link.
Marko has released the second firmware patch to switch the user interface to English on the stunning Sony e-Ink reader. The update link fixes a few things and lets you execute the custom UNIX shell scripts on Librie! These readers are great for reading ebooks once you change the firmware, then make your own non-DRM’ed, non-time expired books. I’ll have a how-to on both shortly along with lots of books I’m making! Good place to get inspired. Of all the ideas in Why Not?, the biggest is our desire to incite a why-not movement. It starts at www.whynot.net, an online forum for people to share and talk about their ideas, be they big or small, practical or blue-sky. Which ones do you like and why? How could they be improved? The site is literally an idea free-for-all, where participants can help develop each other’s brainstorms, notions, and shower-time inspirations. Link.
On June 21, 2005, Cosmos 1, a project of The Planetary Society and Cosmos Studios, is launching a breakthrough mission to assist the world community in developing future solar sail technologies. Four days after launch, the spacecraft will deploy its eight silver sails and become one of the brightest objects crossing the night sky. [via] Link.
