    A disposable camera has all the optics you need for macro, wide angle and fisheye. It interesting to learn how the shutter and other parts of a disposable camera operate.

      + 1 for making your own (these do look pretty slick, though).

      I have two lens components from an old 35mm point and shoot that work as macro lenses. On my project list is a way to unobtrusively mount them to my phone. I was thinking a wood or maybe even epoxy resin frame. If possible, I’m going to avoid tape and rubber bands. Unfortunately, magnets won’t work with my particular phone.

      I also hear CD and DVD player laser lenses work great for macro lenses.
