Andrew Salomone made this “Offline Oracle” Ouija board. In his explaination of why the Offline Oracle is an internet substitute art piece, he writes:
The point of this piece is that access to information clearly does not make us smarter, if we are unable to figure out how to apply the information we have to some useful purpose, the internet itself is a perfect illustration of that. Every piece of useful information on the internet is also fodder for our own illogical arguments and opinions so in some cases it seems to me that a Ouija Board is just as acurate as the internet is at backing-up whatever it is that we want to believe in.
Also, if your subconscious is more used to typing than writing, the convenient QWERTY letter layout should help. I love that giant cursor.

I love your blog & make it a daily stop, but who ever made the executive decision to post this “toy” does not realize the depth & scope of problems that accompany such an item. Regardless of spiritual beliefs, all beliefs agree that this item is not a toy and should be held in a higher regard as to what it is capable of doing or undoing in experienced & inexperienced hands. Please reconsider this posting.
With all due respect, neither I nor the artist ever referred to this artwork as a “toy.” I apologize for any misunderstanding.
