Devorah Sperber has replicated several elements from the classic Star Trek out of thread, beads, and fibers. Her art show, Mirror Universe, opens today at Caren Golden Fine Art in New York. Gems include this beaded curtain intricately constructed to resemble Captain Kirk being “beamed up,” and a portrait of Spock made from 1,200 spools of thread, viewable by way of a reflective sphere. If you can’t make the show, Wired has a nice article up about it.
