Our friend, Zontee, over at Lion Brand Yarn, posted a picture of this crochet-covered bicycle she spotted while out in New York.
Notice that even the kick-stand and wheels are completely covered!
I’m not sure where it came from or why it was there, but it was a fun sight that reminded me of the surprising places you can come across yarn art.
Do any of you happen to know the story of this bicycle? Do you have other favorite yarn-art sightings you’d like to share?

Thats Olek. She’s in a residency at http://www.AAI-NYC.org The bike was outside cuchifritos at the Essex Street Market which she’ll be in a show this summer. Here’s a link to Olek’s site: http://www.agataolek.com/home.html
She does awesome work!
Awesome! Thanks so much, zeina1! :)
That was a first for me and it was really cool!! I’ve never seen anyone love their bicycle enough to crochet-cover it completely!! But I must say that it is a very original idea and after checking out and reading Olek’s site I am in awe of the talent and was dumbstruck by her work!! I am sure that it must be after years to practice and hard work that she has become the expert at crochet art!!
