This embroidery floss solar system from Laura at Art for Little Hands is gorgeous, yet shockingly easy to make, and Laura’s idea to hang the planets around a ceiling light sun is a particularly wonderful touch! (I might also add twinkle lights in the background to create stars for when the lights are out.) Even if you don’t have kids, this project would definitely make for some fun and unique home decor!

Super cute! I have a question…how would you add the twinkle lights? I love the idea of that, but just can’t figure out how to do it so it will look good with all of the wires. HELP! ;)
I’d probably use twinkle lights with a white cord, then position the lights with either tiny hooks or thumbtacks. Good luck! -Haley
I would love to do this in my son’s room but I cant find the plans for how to make them, am I missing something? I click on “embroidery floss solar system” but it didn’t come up.
Hi, Alex. It looks like the blog no longer exists. I did some quick clicking around to see if maybe the page had moved, but I didn’t find a new link. You may want to try searching for balloon string ornament tutorials, which is the same method that was used in this project.
I wonder how she gave Saturn rings?
