Hmmm…not sure about this one. My mother used to wear these “smocks” to do her housework when the weather was warm (we didn’t have a/c).
OMG – I actually have an old smock dress that I love. Never thought of shortening to wear with capris. Love it!!

All that the dress would need is a waist belt and some tights, a chunky necklace and it would be fine to wear.

Yes, it’s darling as a dress and would look great styled as you suggested but it just wasn’t flattering belted(as shared in the original post on my blog). Trust me, I tried!
So, the next step was donate or try something DIY and I was really happy with how it turned out.
