Current Masters of Landscape Architecture candidate at the University of Texas at Austin Lydia Kenselaar refashioned the guts of a cabled sweater into an amazingly realistic knitted rib cage with this brilliant sweater hack way back when she was studying art as an undergraduate at the Maryland Institute College of Art. After unraveling the yarn from the area of the sweater that covered the rib cage, she recreated a rib cage by knitting the same yarn over a wire armature.
