Needle Felted Hubble Space Telescope

Craft & Design

Jen Scheer, a former space shuttle technician and founder of Project Mercury Rising, created this awesome needle-felted Hubble Space Telescope. It’s complete with tiny astronauts representing crew members from the STS-125 Hubble servicing mission during the EVA when Mike Massimino had to forcibly remove a handrail from the telescope. The details in her piece are amazing, right down to the tiny American flags on the astronaut’s spacesuits and the pesky handrail in Massimino’s hand. I love it so much!
