French seams are a seaming technique that completely encases the raw edges of your fabric where pieces are joined, giving projects a clean, professional-looking finish that’s especially great for clothing and working with delicate materials. And, even though it looks like a high-end finishing technique, it’s actually very easy to do—as long as you’re just sewing in a straight line.
