In the States, lack of dental insurance is a big problem. Flickr user Sappymoosetree writes:

Due to recent events it turns out I need a LOT of dental work done and a LOT of cash to do so. So much, that I brought back my tooth plush in now a new kind: Cavity. 100% of proceeds from the sales of these teeth in my etsy shop go to helping REAL teeth get healthy (mine!). Well, clearly having insurance and actually getting to the dentist are two different problems…
