The KeyboaStick by Korean maker FunOrNothing instantly makes a boring keyboard fun, and a fun keyboard awesome.

Itโ€™s a well-designed model that comes in various flavors. The standard version replaces WASD keycaps and turns them into a tiny joystick. The joints mostly print in place, and itโ€™s designed so forgivingly that it prints out well on older, not-perfectly-calibrated machines.

Assembly is straightforward; even with no post-processing the parts fit together well. And though the movement felt a little sticky aiming to the side, and I got so excited I pulled off the top, I still was able to make it through Sonic the Hedgehog 2โ€™s Emerald Hill Zone without the controller being a problem.

The design has been stolen a lot by unscrupulous sellers, but you can still download the files on MakerWorld or buy finished prints from the official RadianLab store on Etsy. There are versions for other keys, and a quick-replace version as well. A redesigned Pro version with even better performance is also available as a physical print from the RadianLab Etsy shop.

I do blame it for getting a Game Over in Chemical Plant Zone, but itโ€™s possible that says more about my skills.
