Announcing MakerCon 2015 and the Launch Pad Contest

MakerCon 2015 is Make:’s popular conference on the business of Making and the impact of the Maker Movement. Presented by Intel, the event will take place May 12-13, at San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts, and will look at Makers who are going pro by bringing their projects, products, and ideas to market, but also at how the Maker Movement is changing the way well-established companies are doing business.

Featured speakers at MakerCon 2015 include Eben Upton of Raspberry Pi, Chris Anderson of 3D Robotics, and futurist Paul Saffo who teaches at Stanford and chairs the Future Studies track at Singularity University. Other noted speakers include Massimo, Banzi, co-founder of the Arduino project, HAXLR8R CEO Cyril Ebersweiler, Bolt managing director Ben Einstein, Spark CEO Zach Supalla and others.

Early bird tickets for MakerCon are on sale through March 31st. Get your tickets today!

LaunchPad_logoMakerCon will also highlight a new competition for hardware startups, called Launch Pad, which is open to companies that are less than three years old, with late or closed-Beta products, and that have raised less than $3 million in funding. The submission period for Launch Pad runs until March 31.

Ten Launch Pad finalists will present their products on the first day of Maker Con. A panel of judges will watch the presentations and interview each team, and the winning submission will be announced at the end of the day on Tuesday during the Evening of Innovation reception, sponsored by HP.
