Jean at The Artful Parent posted a cool idea. Especially timely, as the leaves turn fall colors – leaf-print cookies! She used food coloring to get a bright red, but I bet you could use beet juice to get an equally intense red! Using pecan sandies dough as her canvas, she found that pressing the leaf vein-side down into the cookie dough gives nice texture and definition inside the leaf outline.
