Our pal Quinn Dunki sent us this fix she made to her rope-start salad spinner. The nylon cord on it broke. Rather than toss it away, she used it as an opportunity to learn more about the mechanism that powers the device, and experimented with different replacement cord. Eventually, she ended up with a 550lb-test paracord. Yeah. That oughta hold. Better than new.
I love these sorts of humble repair n’ document projects. May a million of them bloom. Send us yours!

I suppose that powering the device, the broken nylon might be considered a power cord, which is similar to a power chord, which thereby renders it into a nylon chord.
Don’t mind me, just being amused by grammatical silliness. Carry on.
how do you get the lid off the spinner to repair
I’m thankful that I dropped by on your blog and see this post. My spinner also got damage and maybe we have the same problem… will try to repair my spinner.
I tried to do that but can’t get the lid off!
