From the Cool Hunting blog:
Using hoods from vintage American cars, Joel Hester handcrafts coffee tables in his Dallas, TX studio. Taking advantage of the bright colors of yesteryear and the patterns created by oxidization, the one-of-a-kind steel pieces add industrial chic to living rooms.
While I’m sure his work is worth the $850 price tag, if you have an old junker in the backyard you may as well make your own.

$850 for a table
Creating it eats up too many resources. There is no testing done for toxic chemicals. It’s very ugly. His other work is nothing more than a few bars of iron welded together and is mediocre at best.
Make is usually better at finding neat recycling ideas.
