Halloween raw materials – American Science and Surplus

American Science and Surplus is a classic source of materials for makers of just about anything. They have a collection of Halloween-ish bits and pieces like rubber spider webs, gigantic spiders, life-sized skeletons, fake teeth, glow-in-the-dark maggots, and voice modulators, but make sure you explore the rest of their site for cheap switches, motors, tools, and weird inspiration.

Their stores are an astonishing panoply of bits, pieces, leftovers, surplus and all the treasure of the universe — go, by all means!

I bought some stuff from them and put together a costume a few years ago. I still have it in my costume trunk.

-Bright yellow cotton “Nuclear Suit” (Certified incinerable!)
-Nebulizer mask (the gas mask was out of my price range)

and some stuff I had at home:
    -Black utility belt
    -Safety goggles
    -Black rubber chem-safe gloves

Unfortunately, they’ve sold out of the complete yellow suits. They still have the “nuclear shoe covers”, and you can still find other suits (tyvek, forest commando, etc.)

They are also a great place for odd tools and equipment.
