Homemade boat race in Providence, RI

It’s not to late to enter this year’s Fools’ Rules Regatta in Providence, or just come and watch! Joe Wilkicki writes in:

Description: The Jamestown Fools’ Rules Regatta has been running for more than 20 years in Jamestown, Rhode Island. Contestants have 2 hours to construct a boat on the beach using any materials they like, as long as they aren’t traditional boat materials (such as oars, real sails, etc.). Check out the pages for the previous years’ events to get an idea of the kinds of craft that get fielded. It isn’t too late to participate this year if you are in the Rhode Island area. Traditionally our team usually meets the day before and hacks up something to assemble on the beach the next day.
