A personal note about Dremel

I absolutely love it when companies have giveaways and contests. Getting the community to actually make stuff and share those creations is simply fantastic, and in my mind, one of the best ways a company can interact with their customers. This is especially true when that company is Dremel. I’m not sure if I’ve been in a single modern workshop or makerspace that doesn’t have a few Dremel tools lying around.

This year, Dremel has really stepped up by putting makers front and center. One great example is the #DremelMaker series of videos they released, spotlighting makers and putting the person and the project first.

Here’s a couple examples:

Just go check out the whole playlist, I enjoyed all of them.

That’s why, when I heard they were wanting our help telling the world about their sweepstakes, I jumped to the front of the line. When a tool maker devotes this much time to promoting the people and the art, they earn my respect instantly. I feel like we, as makers, should support companies that support us back.

I get ridiculously excited seeing people make things. I just want to revel in the creativity I see in makers. My favorite thing in the world is sharing a maker's story. email me at hello (at) calebkraft.com
