Whenever a flagship Maker Faire ends there’s always a lulling period where the crew and staff decompress before slowly getting back online and catching up with the real world — even with everything one might have missed at Maker Faire. There’s the Maker Faire news stream here on the Make: blog, which I recommend reading to get a curated editorial view of the event. And of course there are the photo albums and galleries that get uploaded in the days and weeks following the event, to Facebook, Flickr, and other social outlets. I especially like to scroll through these to see what I missed from the unique vantage of fellow Makers.
In the case of Chuck Swiger, his vantage was especially unique as he was the lone winner of the PSoC Pioneer Challenge, a contest presented by Cypress Semiconductor and Arrow Electronics that awarded Chuck with $2,500 to travel with his PSoC 4 BLE project to San Mateo. His project, an eBicycle Battery Watchdog, was not transportable in its original form, and instead was rebuilt on site with a bike loaned by Talbots Cyclery in San Mateo (thanks Gary!).
From West Virginia to the Bay Area and back, Swiger not only had a great time but extolled he’s “already dreaming of another Maker Faire.” We know the feeling!
