Derek “Deek” Diedricksen (Stoughton, MA) is back, with another episode of his Tiny Yellow House. This guy is such a natural, “endlessly entertaining,” as Letterman likes to say. In this episode, Deek gives us a tour of his mini-cabin/house built out of recycled junk (from dumpster diving/repurposing), and curbside materials. With a guitar tease/ guest appearance from Age Against The Machine/Anklelock/Any Given Enemy guitarist Bill Bracken Jr. (who’ll apparently be appearing in episode #3).

Deek is a Rock Star!
Great post, you gotta love what he is building, and he is fun to watch too. I would love to see him build a fort/tiny yellow house at a Maker Faire.
Reminds me of the forts we built as kids. I would love to know more about the veggie heater too.
So awesome! I wish Deek was my friend. I would certainly want him on my team–he has mad skills!
Seriously, why haven’t you guys hired him already?
The dude rocks; one of the best video-presenters I’ve seen in a long time, and his making credentials are pretty damned solid. That shack rocks, and I love the wee heater!
Shiiit, Math- thanks man- Make’s gonna think you’re my brother or something- the feedback’s TOO positive! lol. Much appreciated.
Episode #3 has been shot (it goes a little off the beaten path)- and we have more already scheduled….once we finish editing #3….
And yeah, if Make ever need’s a East Coast freelance “fonzanoon”- I’d be all ears…
Also, there eventually will be an add-on video about the tiny vegetable oil heater- I’ve drawn up some sketches for it too, etc- that I’ll partially post online, and anyone can have for free, if they check out my “Humble Homes, Simple Shacks…” indie/d.i.y. shelter book.
Thanks to all (esp. Gareth!) once again….
