Don’t miss the second episode of Make: Live, the new streaming show and tell from MAKE. Join hosts Becky Stern and Matt Richardson as we connect metal things together through soldering! Guests Limor “Ladyada” Fried and Marc de Vinck will show us how, talk to us about their projects, and take your questions. Please join us in the UStream chat or mark tweets with #makelive to interact live with the show.
We’ll also be giving away a fabulous prize from Digi-Key to one chat member who can solve our photo challenge. Make: Live is every other Wednesday, broadcasting in HD from New York City. We’ll be archiving clips from each show to our YouTube channel and iTunes podcast.

Can’t wait to see this episode. A nice way to cap off our month of Electronics Skill Set content.
I can’t wait either! I have a lot to learn about soldering properly! Now that I have my nice new fancy soldering iron, I’m ready to learn!

What did you get?
A Hakko 936. Compared to my old generic cheap iron, this one makes it incredibly easy to make good solder joints.
That’s the exact same iron that was recommended to me by ACK Electronics here in Atlanta – I have to wait for my birthday in April, but I could really use it today.
You’ll love it for sure, James. It’ll be well worth the wait. I hope you’ll tune in for Make: Live next week.
It would be great to upgrade my $5 (or less, i got it on sale for $3) harborfreight iron… but at least they’re so cheap that if I break one I can get a new one easy. Its better than using a not-so-greatly rated “The Source” iron… I do wish it had a finer tip though.. i think i know what to ask for my b-day- that or electronics giftcards..

Niiice comments are working great! Weird (and cool) to see the social media reactions reflected on the page as well.
