Though my fit and finish were sub-par compared to this project, I’ve done similar lathe operations to make graphite and aluminum marble presses for hot glass. For those who don’t have access to a lathe: a core box router bit can be slowly plunged into aluminum, with either a drill press or router, to make nice hemispherical pockets.

    Very nice.
Where did you get the aluminum to start with and what was the cost?

Very nice way to make one of those cool presses, but for those that don’t have the tools or skills, there is a beautiful but really affordable press I am trying to crowfund on kickstarter. Please have a look
