PHP on USB

PHP on USB

Php Usb Handy way of running PHP on a USB drive…the most obvious being demonstrating your wares to a potential client on their computer , but the possibilities should be obvious to any PHP heads who in general I find are quite an inventive bunch. In the past I have produced AMP CD-R’s , e.g. Apache/MySQL/PHP installation running from a CD-R , a USB flash drive install is even easier since we don’t have to worry about non-writable media, the point of this article by the way is to provide a portable system with no hard-coding of drive paths etc. Link.

Pure Digital PV2 – PV2Mod for Macs

Pure Digital PV2 – PV2Mod for Macs

Pv2-Icon Mac version of the disposable digital camera mod. PV2Mod is a simple program I wrote to modify files stored on a PV2 camera. It is currently only a Mac command-line program (since OS X, macs have become the choice of many geeks, and I’ve found USB programming for Mac to be very easy). While PV2 can modify any file in the camera’s root directory. Link.

Water Bottle Jetpack

Water Bottle Jetpack

Screenshot 01-4
A contestant on a Japanese gameshow gets shot over a lake with pressurized water bottles strapped to his back. It looks like they’re all pressurized with bicycle pumps and then released all at the same time. He goes really far and high up in the air, I’m surprised he didn’t get hurt, yikes! The water rockets you can build are fun, not sure launching humans is a good idea, unless it’s for a game show. Link.

Make a USB Saturn Pad

Make a USB Saturn Pad

Final1 More retro controllers made into USB controllers…how to make a Saturn pad, widely regarded as the best pad ever made ever (ever!), work with your PC, Mac or PS2 via the USB port. I’ve taken an off-the-shelf Elecom USB pad, removed the USB encoder chip and supporting components (two resistors, two capacitors and a crystal) and shoved them into a Saturn pad Link.

Circuit Bending Documentary

Shrine
Derek Sajbel was on G4’s Attack of the show with a lot of circuit bending gear- what is circuit bending? It’s an electronic art that short circuits, bends, tweaks and mashes up the sound outputs of toys or just about anything that produces sound. Derek’s site has video, galleries and information about the circuit bending documentary. [via] Link.
